Sotheby’s appoints head of 20th Century Chinese Art

Sotheby’s has appointed Vinci Chang as Head of its 20th Century Chinese Art Department, responsible for organising auctions of 20th Century Chinese Art in Hong Kong and spearheading business and client development along with her team of specialists.

“We are delighted to have Vinci joining us as Head of our 20th Century Chinese Art Department,” said Kevin Ching, chief executive officer of Sotheby’s Asia. “Sotheby’s auction sales in this category have gone from strength to strength in recent years, and Vinci’s appointment will drive even stronger and greater growth in this field.

“With her wealth of experience and expertise, and her extensive global business network, I am confident that Vinci will further consolidate Sotheby’s market leadership in 20th Century Chinese Art.”

Chang possesses more than 15 years of experience in the art business, over the course of which she has established strong connections with international collectors and galleries.

She began her career in the auction industry in 1997, having taken up various important positions in Taipei and Hong Kong including an appointment as head of modern and contemporary Asian art at an international auction house.

Prior to her new role, Ms. Chang set up an art consulting company in Hong Kong, providing art restoration and storage services to collectors in the region, and joined Sotheby’s in 2013 as a consultant.
